- Provide academic coaching and tutoring to a small caseload of high-need, at-risk students to support assignment and course completion
- Assess the needs of students who are experiencing academic difficulties and create plans to ensure students meet academic outcomes
- Collaborate closely with faculty associated with students in caseload to best support students' academic success
- Participate in monthly Faculty Learning Community meetings
- Attend bi-weekly academic coach professional development meetings
- Assist in the implementation of academic and student support initiatives such as EDvance Bridge, Oxford English Language Development, and
- Support students in grasping key concepts related to early childhood development, curriculum, and effective teaching strategies.
- Utilizes databases and data management systems to effectively track student needs and progress.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of student records and adhere to FERPA regulations
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
- If hired to teach in the Spanish pathway, must be bilingual in Spanish and English
- One (1) year experience tutoring, teaching, and/or training
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills,
- Familiarity with APA formatting for references and citations
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Proficiency using Google Workspace, Zoom, and Canvas
- Willingness to learn, adopt, and grow your skill set using generative AI tools, preferably Google products such as Gemini and Notebook LM.
- Willingness to work flexibly, including occasionally meeting students evenings, weekends
- A background check (may include: employment and education verification, criminal records, civil records, professional licenses, credit and sex offender registries, as position requires). Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check and pass the criminal portion of the check may affect employment eligibility as it relates to the job specific duties listed below:
- Access to confidential student records
- Master's degree in TESOL, composition, or related field
- One year experience in child development and early childhood education
- Bilingual skills in Spanish, Cantonese, and/or Mandarin.
- Prior experience as a writing coach or tutor
- Consent to, and clearance of criminal background check
