Accountant

AFC Industries is a dynamic organization dedicated to providing supply chain management solutions for fasteners and assembly components. The Accountant will be responsible for handling month-end close, reconciliations, general reporting, and assisting with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable as needed.

Responsibilities

• Timely and accurate completion of the month-end close process in accordance with GAAP, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
• Safeguard assets and ensure accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing disciplines of internal audits, controls and checks across all departments
• Assist with the annual audit by providing required information and responding to requests from the auditors
• Focus on continuous improvement of the accounting processes
• Assist with daily/weekly reporting
• File sales tax returns as necessary
• Other duties as assigned

Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• Minimum of 1 to 2 years of relevant accounting work experience, preferably in a distribution, manufacturing, or another high-volume transaction environment
• Strong analytical skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask and meet tight deadlines when necessary
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Good inter-personal skills and collaborative approach
• Experience working with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
