Vellum Health is a growing healthcare services company dedicated to supporting patients, providers, and healthcare organizations. They are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations, including month-end close activities, account reconciliations, and maintaining accurate financial records.
Responsibilities
- Prepare routine journal entries and maintain supporting documentation
- Perform monthly bank and balance sheet account reconciliations
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Review financial transactions for accuracy and completeness
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed
- Assist with maintaining fixed asset records and depreciation schedules
- Research and resolve accounting discrepancies
- Maintain organized accounting records and documentation
- Assist with audit requests and financial reporting support
- Prepare recurring reports and schedules for management
- Support process improvement initiatives within the accounting department
- Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned
Skills
- 1–3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or finance experience
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or similar accounting software
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, or general ledger accounting
- Experience working in a healthcare or professional services environment
