Our client, a prestigious educational institution in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, US , is seeking a knowledgeable and engaging Adjunct Professor of Educational Psychology to contribute to their esteemed School of Education. This part-time position offers an excellent opportunity for experienced educators and researchers to share their expertise with the next generation of teachers and educational leaders. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in educational psychology, developing comprehensive course syllabi, and designing effective learning activities that promote critical thinking and practical application of psychological principles in educational settings. You will be expected to create an inclusive and stimulating classroom environment, foster student engagement, and provide constructive feedback on assignments and assessments. This role requires a deep understanding of child and adolescent development, learning theories, motivation, assessment, and effective teaching methodologies. The Adjunct Professor will also be responsible for grading student work accurately and timely, holding office hours, and contributing to the overall academic vibrancy of the department. Familiarity with online teaching platforms and methodologies is advantageous, as this role may involve a blend of in-person and online instruction. Responsibilities: Teach assigned courses in Educational Psychology, adhering to established curriculum and learning objectives. Develop and deliver engaging lectures, facilitate discussions, and guide student learning. Design and implement appropriate assessments (e.g., exams, papers, projects) to evaluate student comprehension. Provide timely and constructive feedback to students on their academic performance. Hold regular office hours to support students and address their inquiries. Contribute to curriculum development and course enhancement initiatives. Maintain accurate records of student attendance and grades. Stay current with research and best practices in educational psychology and pedagogy. Foster a diverse, equitable, and inclusive learning environment. Qualifications: Master's degree or Ph.D. in Educational Psychology, Developmental Psychology, or a closely related field. Demonstrated expertise in core areas of educational psychology, including learning theories, child development, motivation, and assessment. Previous teaching experience at the college or university level is highly preferred. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively engage and instruct diverse student populations. Proficiency in using learning management systems (LMS) such as Blackboard or Canvas is a plus.
