Assistant Commercial Manager

PT Renewables is a dynamic and growing engineering business seeking an Assistant Commercial Manager to support the successful commercial delivery of mechanical and engineering projects. The role involves ensuring effective cost control, contract compliance, and commercial performance across multiple projects while providing both site-based and office-based support.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a key point of support for all commercial and contractual matters across assigned projects
• Assist with cost tracking, budget management, and financial reporting to ensure projects remain commercially on track
• Support the preparation and management of subcontractor packages, including valuations, payments, and variation accounts
• Contribute to the preparation of interim applications, final accounts, and commercial documentation
• Provide on-site commercial support, working closely with project managers, engineers, and site teams
• Assist in the preparation of forecasts, cost reports, and cash flow projections
• Support contract administration activities, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and conditions
• Work collaboratively with the wider commercial and project teams to drive efficiency and improve commercial performance
• Identify and highlight commercial risks and opportunities across projects
• Contribute to continuous improvement of commercial processes and procedures

Skills

• Experience in a commercial, quantity surveying, or assistant commercial role within construction, M&E, or building services
• Understanding of standard forms of contract (e.g. JCT/NEC) and commercial practices
• Strong numerical, analytical, and Excel skills
• Comfortable working both in an office environment and on live project sites
• Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Degree or working towards a qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related field (desirable)
