We are seeking a skilled, compassionate, and motivated attorney with 1-5 years of experience to join our team in our Albuquerque office as a remote attorney.
About the Role:
This remote position offers a unique opportunity to be a part of a dynamic, growing firm focused on plaintiff-side litigation. You will serve exclusively as a legal writer and drafter, responsible for preparing all necessary legal documentation throughout the lifecycle of a case. In this position, you will work closely with senior attorneys and partners to represent clients in a variety of complex personal injury, medical malpractice, and wrongful death cases. As an attorney at Buckingham & Vega, you will have the chance to develop your litigation skills while making a meaningful impact on the lives of those who need it most.
Key Responsibilities:
• Draft and refine pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation documents to support active cases
• Draft and respond to discovery requests
• Conduct legal research and analyze case law to support litigation strategies
• Assist in case development through written analysis and preparation of legal memoranda
• Collaborate with team members to strategize on case management and trial preparation
• Maintain organized, detailed records of drafted materials, research findings, and case-related documentation
Qualifications:
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• 1-5 years of experience in plaintiff’s-side civil litigation
• Strong research, writing, and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while taking initiative in individual cases
• Experience drafting legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery responses
• Comfortable with legal technology and case management software
• Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines
• Admission to the New Mexico State Bar (or eligibility for admission)
