Senior Manufacturing Process and Packaging Engineer
Education & Experience Requirements:
• Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline.
• 5-7+ years of experience in process and packaging engineering, system development, product development, and quality engineering within a manufacturing setting.
• Proven ability to manage large concurrent projects, with expertise in project management, productivity improvement, and packaging development.
• Strong understanding of packaging and processing systems, with hands-on knowledge of manufacturing, engineering, quality, and research functions.
• Extensive experience in Lean Six Sigma, TPM, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Position Summary:
The Senior Manufacturing Process and Packaging Engineer provides technical leadership as an equipment, system, and product specialist for the plant. This role is responsible for identifying, leading, and executing performance improvement solutions, eliminating inefficiencies, and driving strategic productivity and capacity enhancements. The position serves as a technical resource and liaison, ensuring the successful commercialization of business initiatives on manufacturing systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership & System Optimization:
• Serve as a technical expert on manufacturing systems, technologies, products, and materials.
• Develop and execute strategic technical improvement plans to enhance system performance and reliability.
• Apply expertise in machines, materials, methods, and processes to develop robust operating systems.
• Drive loss elimination and equipment reliability improvements through structured continuous improvement processes, statistical analysis, and problem-solving techniques.
• Leverage data and information systems (e.g., performance metrics, financial data, maintenance management systems) to drive informed decision-making.
Project Management & Process Development:
• Provide technical support for capital projects, product launches, and packaging material testing and start-ups.
• Oversee the implementation of new technologies and process improvements, ensuring seamless integration into manufacturing operations.
• Maintain material balances and unit operation capabilities to optimize production rates, parameters, and formulas.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Training:
• Act as a technical liaison, working closely with production teams, maintenance staff, plant leadership, corporate engineering, R&D, and external partners.
• Develop and deliver technical training programs for employees at all levels, ensuring best practices are effectively communicated and implemented.
• Engage with cross-functional teams to align technical strategies with business goals, driving operational excellence.
