About CPI
Climate Policy Initiative (CPI) is an organization with international expertise in finance and policy analysis. CPI has eight offices around the world. In Brazil, CPI has a partnership with the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-RIO). CPI/PUC-RIO works to improve the effectiveness of public policies and sustainable finance in Brazil through evidence-based analysis and strategic partnerships with members of the government, civil society, the private sector and financial institutions.
Position Summary
We are seeking a communications associate who will be responsible for creating engaging digital content across CPI Brazil’s social media platforms (especially Instagram and LinkedIn). This role will lead to the development of posts, short-form content, and video editing for social channels, translating CPI’s technical work into compelling and accessible formats.
You will play a key role in translating complex analysis on economics, finance, and public policy into clear, concise, and engaging content that resonates with policymakers and broader audiences. This includes developing social media narratives, adapting publications into digestible formats, and ensuring consistency in tone, voice, and visual storytelling.
The ideal candidate has a strong interest in climate policy, sustainable finance, and development, along with experience in content creation for digital platforms. They are creative, detail-oriented, and motivated to communicate impactful ideas in ways that drive engagement and amplify CPI’s influence.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Includes the following and other duties as assigned:
Develop and create content for social media (with a focus on Instagram and LinkedIn), ensuring clarity, accessibility, and alignment with CPI’s voice and institutional positioning
Translate complex research and policy analysis into engaging, audience-friendly formats (e.g., posts, carousels, short-form videos)
Plan and implement digital campaigns aligned with CPI’s strategic priorities and flagship projects
Coordinate content across outputs and initiatives, maintaining consistency with CPI’s digital editorial calendar and overall communications strategy
Edit and produce short-form videos for social media, including basic cutting, formatting, and optimization for platform performance
Work closely with CPI’s communications team
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field
Proven experience in digital communications, social media management, or content creation
Proven experience creating content for Instagram and LinkedIn, including posts, carousels, and short-form videos
Hands-on experience with video editing for social media (e.g., Reels), including basic editing, captions, and formatting for platform performance
Experience planning and executing digital campaigns
Excellent writing and editing skills in Portuguese; English proficiency required
Experience working in mission-driven organizations, public policy, or sustainability-related fields is a plus

Location and Compensation
CPI Brazil is hiring for one consultant, part-time communications associate position .
CPI offers competitive compensation. Compensation will be dependent on experience.
