The Community Builders, Inc. is a leading nonprofit real estate developer focused on strengthening neighborhoods across the nation. They are seeking a Corporate Staff Accountant to manage financial records and assist in various accounting tasks, including the preparation of financial statements and the implementation of accounting software.
Responsibilities
- Review and reconcile corporate bank accounts
- Prepare monthly workpapers for the corporate entity and quarterly workpapers for corporate and consolidating entities
- Prepare financials for corporate subsidiary entities
- Assist in implementation of Yardi software modules
- Assist Assistant Corporate controller with writing new processes and procedures for the corporate accounting department
- Import & review 3rd party managed properties data in accounting software
- Assist with special projects as required from the Assistant Corporate Controller or VP of Corporate Finance and Accounting
Skills
- BS degree in accounting or equivalent required
- 1-3 years of General Accounting experience required
- Excellence in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Superior organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to convey issues and problems clearly both in writing and orally
- Passion to work for a mission driven organization
- Advanced degree a plus
- Experience with YARDI Accounting Package a plus
- Non-profit experience a plus
