Source what’s next. Track the pulse of the art and design world, bringing forward contemporary artists and ideas to our team. Lead artist outreach, onboarding and collaborate with Art Consultants to shape project narratives. Serve as an art ambassador for Local Language. We’re a hybrid art consulting + art fabrication studio creating custom collections for commercial interiors, spanning framed works to large-scale installations, produced through our Oakland studio and global artist network. Gallery experience is appreciated, but we prioritize fluency in commercial art: licensing, interiors, brand, and hospitality or workplace environments. While this is a remote position are prioritizing candidates in California. RESPONSIBILITIES: Artist Recruitment + Management • Source and onboard independent artists for licensing and commission-based projects • Cultivate an active, engaged artist community through thoughtful communication • Negotiate and manage licensing agreements, payments, and artwork inventory Digital Art Library • Oversee and maintain internal art databases across studio work, artists, and external sources Art Consulting Support • Partner with Art Consultants to source and curate project-specific collections • Support original commissions, liaising between artists and clients • Research and connect with archives, stock agencies, and creative partners • Contribute to art proposals, including narrative development and visual presentation Marketing • Support marketing initiatives that elevate artists and studio work • Develop content across social and editorial platforms REQUIREMENTS: • 1+ year of experience in art curation, interior design, art licensing, commercial art/design world • A passion for art and design aesthetics, with an eye for emerging trends • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with precision and composure under pressure • Excellent communication skills; written, verbal, and organizational • Proactive and self-directed, with the initiative to grow and support an evolving artist community • Actively engaged in the art world, from fairs to exhibitions, with genuine curiosity beyond day-to-day work • Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that shifts and evolves • Able to balance personal taste with client vision, sourcing within project parameters and budgets • Proficiency in Google Workspace; experience with Airtable, FileMaker, and Asana is a plus • Graphic design experience is a plus; a strong eye for graphic design is essential ADDITIONAL: • Vacation, holidays, 401k, health (vision + dental) insurance coverage • Growth opportunity into the Curator and Art Consultant roles • Compensation based on experience; $25-30 per hour WE PRIORITIZE CANDIDATES IN CALIFORNIA.
