We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Curriculum Developer to help develop a comprehensive five-level Islamic education curriculum designed for students in North America. Our goal is to create engaging, academically rigorous instructional materials that align with current educational standards while remaining authentic to Islamic teachings. The first level has already been completed and is ready for a comprehensive review. We are looking for someone who is comfortable providing honest, detailed, and constructive criticism. We welcome thoughtful feedback and challenging perspectives—we're more interested in creating the best curriculum possible than simply receiving approval. This is a project-based contract position with the opportunity to continue contributing as we develop the remaining curriculum levels. Responsibilities • Conduct a comprehensive review of the completed first curriculum level and provide detailed recommendations for improvement. • Evaluate curriculum for educational quality, organization, age appropriateness, readability, and instructional effectiveness. • Ensure curriculum aligns with current educational standards and best practices while maintaining authentic Islamic values and content. • Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop and refine future curriculum levels. • Create engaging instructional materials, assessments, activities, and teacher resources. • Apply instructional design principles to improve learning outcomes and student engagement. • Recommend revisions based on research, educational best practices, and learner needs. • Manage assigned project milestones while maintaining high-quality standards. Preferred Qualifications • Experience in curriculum development, instructional design, education, or educational publishing. • Strong understanding of curriculum planning, learning progression, and instructional design methodologies (ADDIE or similar models). • Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and communication skills. • Ability to provide objective, detailed, and constructive feedback. • Experience aligning instructional materials with educational standards. • Classroom teaching experience is a plus. • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and educational technology is beneficial but not required. • A background in Islamic studies or Islamic education is highly preferred but not required. Candidates without an Islamic background are encouraged to apply if they possess strong curriculum development experience and are willing to learn. Pay: $40.00 - $60.00 per hour Work Location: Remote
