Harmonic is delighted to be supporting a scaling profitable, PE-backed vertical SaaS business, in their search for a Director of FP&A.
The company has built a strong and defensible position in its niche, serving a portfolio of well-known, mission-driven institutions. At circa $70M ARR with circa 100 employees, it operates with the discipline and efficiency of a much leaner business, and carries very healthy EBITDA margins that speak to the quality of the underlying model. The business is backed by a hands-on growth equity firm with deep PE heritage and active board involvement.
The Role
This is a newly created position reporting directly to the CFO, with full ownership of the FP&A function. The mandate spans long-range planning, annual budgeting, forecasting, board-level reporting, and the strategic finance work required to support an active M&A agenda and eventual exit preparation.
There is no established FP&A infrastructure to step into. This is a role for someone who is energised by building, who can create processes, cadences, and analytical frameworks from the ground up, and who is comfortable operating as a close partner to the CFO and broader leadership team in a fast-moving, evolving environment.
Compensation is competitive with bonus and equity.
Fully remote across the US.
The Profile
• Experience in a small, lean finance team with genuine end-to-end ownership of the FP&A remit
• A background in SaaS or software businesses, ideally at sub-$100M revenue
• Real comfort operating in a build-stage environment, creating structure rather than relying on it
• M&A exposure is an advantage, though not a prerequisite
• A CPA qualification and accounting background would be a bonus, though neither is essential
The right candidate is not looking to plug into a mature finance organisation. They want to be the person who builds one, inside a business with the backing, the trajectory, and the ambition to make that journey genuinely worthwhile.
