Location: We are seeking an experienced Director of Human Resources for our Canada Operations! The position is Remote to be based in a major market near our units. This role covers the following units:

The Director of Human Resources for Sodexo Live! Canada is responsible for leading and executing the human resources strategy across multiple venues, including stadiums, arenas, convention centers, and cultural destinations. This role partners with operational leadership to drive employee engagement, workforce planning, labor relations, and compliance, ensuring alignment with both Provincial Labour Standards / Laws and Sodexo's HR standards.
Job Overview:
The Director of Human Resources is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the HR function, employee relations, training and development, compliance with Canadian labor laws and provincial regulations, and performance management across multiple venues in Canada. The Director of Human Resources plays a critical role in cultivating a positive work culture, supporting organizational growth, and ensuring HR practices align with business goals and legal requirements.
Essential Responsibilities:
Develop and implement HR strategies that support business goals across Canadian Sodexo Live! venues
Partner with senior operations leaders to align workforce planning with seasonal and event-driven demands
Drive organizational effectiveness, change management, and talent optimization initiatives
Lead employee relations strategy, including investigations and resolutions.
Teaming with Senior Leadership, Legal and on-site management, support union relationships where applicable, including collective bargaining
Ensure consistent application of policies and compliance with provincial labour standards and federal labour laws (where applicable)
Oversee compensation structures and benefits programs across Canadian units
Ensure compliance with Canadian employment standards, health & safety regulations, and company policies
Monitor HR metrics and provide insights to leadership for decision-making
Lead HR process standardization across multiple sites
Qualifications/Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
CHRP/CHRL designation
7+ years' experience as a senior-level HR Director.
Previous multi-unit HR responsibilities within the food service, hospitality or similar industry.
Experience working in unionized environments.
Strong knowledge of Canadian labour laws/standards and regulations
Strategic thinking with hands-on execution capability
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
Ability to manage complexity in a fast-paced, event-driven environment
Frequent travel between venues across Canada
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules
