Dispensing Pharmacist

2nd Shift: Sunday – Thursday, 5:30 PM – 2:00 AM
The Dispensing Pharmacist is responsible for the accurate and timely dispensing of prescribed medications to patients in a fast-paced pharmacy environment. This role involves independent decision-making, adherence to quality assurance standards, and ensuring all medications are properly reviewed prior to shipment. The pharmacist will play a key role in maintaining workflow efficiency while supporting a patient-focused and compliance-driven operation.
Dispensing Pharmacist Responsibilities:
Accurately dispense prescribed medications in accordance with state and federal regulations
Perform final verification and quality assurance checks prior to medication distribution
Ensure proper tracking, documentation, and review processes are followed
Maintain compliance with pharmacy laws, safety standards, and internal SOPs
Utilize pharmacy systems and technology to manage workflow efficiently
Collaborate with pharmacy staff and cross-functional teams to resolve issues
Exercise sound judgment and decision-making in both routine and complex situations
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance patient experience and operational efficiency
Dispensing Pharmacist Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited institution
Active Pharmacist license in the state(s) of practice
Ability to participate in federal prescription programs
Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and productivity
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Proficient with computer systems and pharmacy software
Dispensing Pharmacist Preferred Requirements:
3+ years of experience in a high-volume retail or mail-order pharmacy setting
