About the Role Our client, a leading national retailer, is seeking an experienced District Operations Manager to oversee operations for multiple retail locations in the Portland, Oregon area. This critical role is responsible for ensuring operational excellence, driving profitability, and maintaining high standards of customer service across the district. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of retail operations, and a proven ability to manage multiple store teams effectively. Key Responsibilities Oversee the operational performance of all stores within the assigned district, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures. Drive profitability and sales growth by implementing effective operational strategies and managing expenses. Provide leadership, coaching, and development to store managers, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance. Ensure consistent execution of visual merchandising, inventory management, and loss prevention strategies across all locations. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the district and implement action plans to address areas for improvement. Conduct regular store visits to assess operational effectiveness, customer experience, and team performance. Collaborate with corporate partners to ensure alignment on operational initiatives and best practices. Manage district-level budgets and P&L statements, ensuring financial targets are met. Champion a customer-centric approach, ensuring exceptional service delivery at all touchpoints. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in retail operations management, with at least 3 years in a multi-unit leadership role (District Manager, Area Manager). Proven track record of driving operational efficiency, sales growth, and profitability. Strong understanding of retail operations, including inventory control, loss prevention, visual merchandising, and P&L management. Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Ability to travel regularly within the district and occasionally to corporate headquarters. Proficiency in retail management software and data analysis tools. Demonstrated ability to develop and mentor store management teams.
