Verdantas is a leader in environmental consulting and sustainable engineering, seeking an Engineering Staff I to join their Mentor, Ohio location. This role is designed for recent graduates or emerging professionals to contribute to municipal and infrastructure projects while gaining hands-on experience in design and problem-solving.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical planning and design support on various utility projects that may include storm and sanitary sewer collection systems, water distribution, and various other civil engineering projects
- Prepare engineering calculations to support design
- Prepare design reports and construction plans using local and state standards
- Prepare construction plans using AutoCAD 3D Civil 3D
- Prepare plans and specifications for public bid
- Prepare/assist with permit submittals
- Prepare preliminary project cost estimates and evaluate quantities
- Assist with/review scope, budget, and schedule of new project tasks
- Document design changes and communications
- Conduct on-site inspections as needed
- Attend client, public, project and staff meetings, including client progress, plan review, preconstruction, etc
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
- 0-3 years of experience in civil-site and municipal engineering
- Familiarity with HydroCAD or other stormwater modeling software is a plus
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D preferred
- EIT Preferred
- Familiarity with ArcGIS software is a plus
