Job Responsibilities
As an Amazon Remote Data Entry and Business Intelligence Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Working with stakeholders and engineering teams to identify and scope the right data structure and technology to facilitate the analysis of common Amazon customer behavioral questions
- Partnering with associate engineering teams to enhance data infrastructure, data availability, and access to customer insights made available through BI tools across the organization
- Designing, building, and implementing the right ETL methods using AWS and similar technologies
- Implementing anomaly detection systems to proactively address potential data quality issues using industry-standard frameworks
- Enabling large-scale analytics using EMR and other big data technologies
- Establishing and implementing technology best practices to be followed across the organization
- Working on proof of concepts for the adoption of new technologies and tools
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- 3+ years of data engineering experience
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines
- Experience with SQL
- Experience with one or more query languages (e.g., SQL, PL/SQL, DDL, MDX, HiveQL, SparkSQL, Scala)
- Experience with one or more scripting languages (e.g., Python, KornShell)
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR
- Experience with big data processing technology (e.g., Hadoop or Apache Spark), data warehouse technical architecture, infrastructure components, ETL, and reporting/analytic tools and environments
