Faribault Public Schools, a rural Pre-K through Adult School District located about 50 miles south of the Twin-Cities, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Fourth Grade Classroom Teacher to join our team as a 1.0 FTE Long-term Substitute. About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and passionate educator to fill the position of Fourth Grade Classroom Teacher - 1.0 FTE Long-term Substitute at Jefferson Elementary School. Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons to fourth-grade students, utilizing a variety of teaching methods and materials to meet the needs of a diverse student body.
- Collaborate with the grade-level team, special education team, and specialists to develop and implement instructional strategies that promote student learning and achievement.
- Use the Responsive Classroom approach consistently, conducting regular class meetings, supportive exchanges, and clear expectations to foster a positive and respectful learning environment.
- Assess student progress and understanding, using a range of assessment tools and strategies to inform instruction and adjust teaching practices as needed.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, keeping them informed about student progress and involving them in the educational process through regular updates and conferences.
- Support and follow School Board policies and procedures, contributing to the development of a positive and inclusive school culture.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:
- A valid teaching license in Elementary Education from the State of Minnesota.
- A strong understanding of curriculum design, instructional strategies, and assessment methods, with the ability to apply these in a practical and effective manner.
