About the Substitute Teacher Role
We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Substitute Teacher to join our team in San Marcos, TX. As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on teaching experience on your own schedule. Key Responsibilities
- Teach a variety of subjects, including but not limited to: Math, Science, STEM, English, ELA, History, Social Studies, PE, Music, Art, Drama, and Theater Studies
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the needs of students with diverse learning styles and abilities
- Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning environment
- Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and school administrators
- Be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced educational setting
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching skills and knowledge
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- An Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits
- Three professional references, with at least one from a previous direct supervisor
- A background check (we'll cover the cost of this)
- A passion for education and a commitment to putting students first
- An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Previous teaching experience, particularly in a substitute teaching role
