**Job Summary:**
We're seeking an experienced and flexible Chat Moderator to join our remote team. As a Chat Moderator, you'll be responsible for maintaining a positive and respectful community on our official Discord server. This part-time, remote position offers a unique opportunity to work with a dynamic team, develop your skills, and contribute to a mission-driven organization.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Moderate the chat of our official Discord server, ensuring that all users adhere to our community guidelines and rules.
* Delete messages that violate our community standards, including but not limited to:
+ Hate speech
+ Harassment
+ Spam
+ Self-promotion
* Ban users who repeatedly violate our community guidelines, after thorough investigation and review.
* Mute users who have violated our community standards, to prevent further disruptions.
* Investigate reports made by users about potential rule violations, and take necessary actions to resolve the issue.
* Collaborate with our team to develop and implement community guidelines, ensuring that they are clear, concise, and effective.
* Provide excellent customer service, responding to user inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
* Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in community management and moderation.
**Essential Qualifications:**
* 18 years of age or older
* High School Diploma or equivalent
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team
* Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
* Familiarity with Discord and community management platforms
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
**Preferred Qualifications:**
* Experience in community management, moderation, or a related field
* Knowledge of community guidelines, policies, and procedures
* Familiarity with online safety and security best practices
* Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
