**Job Summary**
As an Experienced Customer Service Representative – Grocery Store Operations, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, resolving customer complaints, and promoting a positive store environment. You will work closely with store management, teammates, and customers to ensure a seamless shopping experience and drive business growth. Your excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills will enable you to build strong relationships with customers and teammates, while your attention to detail and organizational skills will ensure efficient store operations.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Act as the ambassador of exceptional customer service for the total store, promoting a positive and welcoming environment for all customers and teammates.
* Provide top-notch customer service, responding to customer inquiries, resolving complaints, and addressing concerns in a timely and professional manner.
* Assist front-end teammates and customers with refunds, over-rings, and other transactions requiring supervisory approvals.
* Handle change order requests, lottery transactions, and other customer-related tasks.
* Maintain knowledge of all products carried in the store, including produce, and be able to recognize and differentiate between various types.
* Ensure that all teammates are courteous to customers and that requests, refunds, and complaints are handled promptly and courteously.
* Process various types of sales transactions, including EFT transactions, WIC checks, food stamps, manufacturer's coupons, gift certificates, and other accepted forms of payment.
* Comply with safety standards and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
* Inform management of pricing problems and maintenance needs of front-end equipment.
* Handle damaged and spoiled/out-of-date products according to company policies.
* Inform store management of disputes between teammates and department managers or any combination of the preceding.
* Maintain an efficient and productive front-end operation.
* Understand and adhere to all company policies, programs, procedures, and guidelines.
* Work with store teammates to identify root causes of issues and inefficiencies.
* Train front-end teammates on customer service, sales transactions, and other relevant skills.
* Constantly interact with teammates to ensure that all teammates understand arenaflex's expectations.
* Constantly interact with customers, remaining highly visible and approachable.
* Ensure that all Management Awareness policies and goals are achieved.
* Ensure that check-cashing policies and procedures are trained and implemented per company policy.
**Essential Qualifications**
* High school diploma or equivalent required.
* 1 year of experience in the supermarket industry or other retail business.
* Excellent customer relations skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and teammates.
* Good communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve customer complaints and issues in a timely and professional manner.
* Knowledge of retail operations, including sales transactions, customer service, and store policies.
* Ability to work independently and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
* Physical ability to stand, walk, and move objects up to 50 pounds.
**Preferred Qualifications**
* Previous experience in a customer-facing role, with a focus on customer service and sales transactions.
* Knowledge of store operations, including inventory management, pricing, and promotions.
* Experience with cash handling, including handling cash, credit card transactions, and other forms of payment.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on providing exceptional customer service and meeting sales goals.
