**Job Summary**
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Entry Research Assistant to join our team. As a Data Entry Research Assistant, you will be responsible for researching, entering, and updating data in our rare species database. You will also assist with conservation-related research, analyze data sources, and map locations of rare species using ArcGIS. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in ecological research, GIS, and data management, while contributing to the protection and preservation of New Mexico's rare species.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Review documents for relevant data to enter
* Enter data into arenaflex databases
* Map locations in GIS mapping software
* Check previously entered data for accuracy
* May occasionally perform ecology field research tasks under supervision of senior research technicians
* Perform miscellaneous web and database job-related duties as assigned
**Minimum Qualifications**
* Currently enrolled in a degree program at a recognized institution
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
**Preferred Qualifications**
* Biology background desired; conservation biology preferred
* Knowledge of ArcGIS and databases (i.e. Microsoft Access, SQL) or other data entry
* Ability to organize and give attention to detail
* Be responsible, self-disciplined, and self-motivated
