Experienced Data Entry Specialist – Pharmacy Operations and Compliance Support

Job Summary

The Data Entry Specialist will be responsible for assisting in the prescriber assessment process, reviewing and organizing Prescriber Evaluation Referral Forms (PERF), gathering internal and external prescribing data, and coordinating prescriber and patient mailings within specific time frames. Additionally, you will create and release COMPASS and RHM communications, generate ad hoc reviews for the prescriber assessment team, and assist in displays to the Integrity and Patient Safety teams. You will also provide support for the Good Faith Dispensing coverage administration.

Key Responsibilities

• Researches and analyzes managed substance orders placed manually at the store level, determining if the orders are suspicious based on ordering patterns and circumstances, and takes appropriate actions to educate the individual on proper ordering practices.
• Generates reports and provides data to DEA dealers on dispensing patterns, and prescriber or patient profiles within a 48-hour window.
• Builds ad hoc queries to pull data outside of regular reporting requirements.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge about issues including managed substance ordering practices, GFD policies, and DEA licensing requirements.
• Assists shops and field supervision with questions via email and phone on various related topics.
• Assists analysts in developing and reviewing store audits for managed substance losses.
• Collaborates with Pharmacy Managers and Supervisors to ensure that losses are reported within the required time frame and with 100% accuracy.
• Manages prescriber pricing decision system, validates and updates prescriber data, and collaborates with Pharmacists to ensure that any prescription blocking is legitimate.
• Researches and analyzes requests for increases to managed substance allocations, making informed decisions based on collaboration with Pharmacy Managers, Supervisors, and object vendors.
• Mitigates risk to the organization by ensuring that due diligence is completed and documented.
• Assists in the implementation and updating of the Good Faith Dispensing and Target Drug Good Faith Dispensing policies.
• Utilizes skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and the ability to query databases to assist analysts in the development of displays and education for store staff and supervision.

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and at least three years of experience as a pharmacy technician.
• Required certification in Certified Pharmacy Technician as granted by PTCB.
• Experience with prescriber licensing requirements (NPI, DEA, and state licenses).
• Intermediate level skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
• Experience with query databases.
• Experience with reading and reporting data to identify problems, trends, or exceptions to drive outcomes and find solutions.
• Experience communicating effectively (written and verbal) as suitable for the needs of the audience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with internal Walgreens systems, including SIMS and IC+.
• Experience with managed substance ordering practices within Walgreens (PDQ's, RxQuick Order, and Passport).
