**Job Summary**
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Analyst Intern to join our Quality Control Standards and Guidelines team. As a Data Analyst Intern, you will play a crucial role in driving a culture of safety, efficiency, and innovation by identifying trends and performance metrics to improve the Quality Control division. You will work closely with our team to analyze data, create reports, and develop recommendations for process improvements.
**Responsibilities and Expectations**
As a Data Analyst Intern, your responsibilities will include:
* Performing and assisting others in the Quality Control team in ideal data collection, validation, and root cause analysis on data components.
* Helping to create and present results from complex data and analysis for both technical and non-technical clients and leaders.
* Assisting in exploring ad-hoc requests arising from emerging maintenance issues and providing logical answers to enable Senior Leaders to make business decisions while adjusting existing project responsibilities.
* Presenting insights, trends, and potential recommendations by using data visualization tools supporting the relevant marks of the investigation to ease partner understanding.
* Helping to create and distribute specific queries to pull and coordinate data from various sources, outlining the rhythm, and approving the need of the data requirements.
* Identifying irregularities in processes through reviews/audits and conveying findings to the team.
* Assessing the effectiveness of processes and methods by observing for patterns and errors.
* Ensuring that a compliance mindset is at the forefront of every decision.
* May perform other work duties as directed by Group Leader.
**Requirements and Qualifications**
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A strong ability to collect, organize, analyze, and interpret large amounts of data with precision and accuracy.
* The capacity to effectively listen, understand, and communicate ideas and present them in writing, verbally, or through presentations to discussions of varying audiences.
* The ability to evaluate business issues, identify valuable opportunities for data needs, and interpret resulting metrics.
* A working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
* Familiarity with data visualization tools and capabilities, such as Tableau, Alteryx, and QuickBase, is preferred.
* The ability to grasp the issue, summarize, and perform root cause analysis on data, and provide recommendations using logic and reasoning.
* The ability to use PowerPoint to build presentations for verbal communications is preferred.
* Past internship, capstone projects, and research coursework is preferred.
* The ability to work independently in a team-oriented, help/group-focused environment.
* The ability to focus on responsibilities diligently and be a self-motivated individual.
* Past internship experience in a related field is preferred.
* The ability to manage sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
* The ability to plan and support large business initiatives.
