**The Role**
As a Data Engineer in our Customer Service team, you will collaborate with data engineers, software engineers, and CS business owners to build reliable, scalable data pipelines, transform raw data into core business metrics, and work with custom visualization tools that surface CS insights. You will be part of a small team, requiring a high degree of autonomy, strong technical judgment, and the ability to span across the data stack, from pipeline development to business metrics and tools.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Collaborate with data engineers, software engineers, and CS business owners to design, develop, and maintain data pipelines that support customer service operations
* Transform raw data into core business metrics and insights that inform customer service strategies and decisions
* Work with custom visualization tools to surface CS insights and drive business outcomes
* Develop and maintain data models that are adaptable to changes in source data or business processes
* Design and implement data quality checks and monitoring to ensure data accuracy and integrity
* Collaborate with analysts, engineers, and business leaders to prioritize and drive business outcomes
* Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure arenaflex remains at the forefront of data engineering and customer service innovation
**Essential Qualifications:**
* At least 4 years of experience engineering data pipelines using big data technologies (Hive, Presto, Spark, Flink) on medium to large-scale data sets (10s of millions of records)
* Strong data modeling skills, with the ability to design structures that are adaptable to changes in source data or business processes
* Strong proficiency in Python or Scala, with a passion for writing clean, supportable code
* Advanced SQL skills, with a focus on data quality and advocacy
* Analytical aptitude to think through business problems and prioritize autonomously
* Strong communication and productive partnership with analysts, engineers, and business leaders
**Preferred Qualifications:**
* Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure)
* Familiarity with data warehousing and ETL processes
* Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI)
* Strong understanding of data governance and compliance regulations
* Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems (e.g. Git)

**Compensation and Benefits**
arenaflex offers a comprehensive compensation structure, including an annual salary, with the option to choose how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. Our compensation range for this role is $170,000 - $720,000.
