**Job Description:**
As a Lead Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing data solutions that meet the needs of our business stakeholders. Your primary focus will be on building and maintaining large-scale data warehouses, data lakes, and data pipelines that support our data science and analytics teams. You will work closely with our data scientists, data analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure that our data solutions are aligned with business objectives and meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Design and develop data solutions that meet the needs of our business stakeholders, including data warehouses, data lakes, and data pipelines
* Build and maintain large-scale data warehouses and data lakes using Hadoop, AWS, Snowflake, and other cloud-based technologies
* Develop ETL pipelines in large data environments (cloud, on-prem, hybrid) using languages such as Python, Scala, and Java
* Collaborate with data scientists, data analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure that our data solutions are aligned with business objectives and meet the highest standards of quality and performance
* Develop and maintain detailed documentation of your work and changes to ensure data quality and data governance
* Ensure high functional productivity and quality of your solutions to meet SLAs and support our clients (Data Science, Data Analysis teams)
* Participate in agile/scrum practices to ensure team well-being and cycle enhancements
**Essential Qualifications:**
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
* Strong SQL skills and ability to write queries to extract data and build performant datasets
* Experience with distributed systems like Hadoop (HDFS, Hive, Voila, PySpark) to query and process data
* Strong programming skills in Python, Java/Scala
* Experience with at least one major MPP or cloud database technology (Snowflake, Redshift, Large Query)
* Strong experience in data integration toolsets (i.e. Wind current) and writing and maintaining data pipelines
* Strong knowledge of data modeling strategies and data warehousing standard practices and procedures
* Familiarity with Scrum and Agile approaches
**Preferred Qualifications:**
* Experience with cloud technologies like AWS (S3, EMR, EC2)
* Strong experience in data governance and data quality
* Familiarity with data visualization tools and technologies
* Experience with machine learning and artificial intelligence technologies
* Strong experience in data security and compliance
