Key Responsibilities
As a Spanish Interpreter, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Interpreting Spanish/English conversations for a wide range of industries, including Healthcare, Government, Insurance, Financial Services, Travel & Hospitality, and government entities
- Handling telephone calls on demand in a quiet home office environment
- Translating Spanish/English conversations that may be simple, complex, or technical
- Providing excellent customer service and ensuring accurate communication between parties
- Working a minimum of 30 hours a week, with Monday shifts being required
- Participating in video interpreting calls, which may involve being on camera
- Maintaining accurate records and notes using manual dexterity to type or write
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- Fluent proficiency in both Spanish and English
- High school diploma or equivalent required; education or work experience in teaching or translation considered an asset
- Previous experience in interpretation or translation not required, but a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Manual dexterity to type or write notes
- Comfortable with being on camera during video interpreting calls
Technical Requirements
To perform your job duties effectively, you'll need:
- A personal iPhone or Android phone
- A high-speed internet connection for work-related electronic communication
- A dry erase marker board
- A dedicated workspace that is quiet and free from distractions
