**Responsibilities and Duties**
As a Seasonal Call Center Customer Service Representative, you'll be responsible for:
* Providing superior customer service in a contact/call center environment through phone and other channels of correspondence
* Handling questions and concerns with the highest degree of courtesy and professionalism
* Communicating and providing accurate answers to resolve end-users' questions and concerns
* Displaying empathy, having a passion for customer service excellence, and enjoying helping people
* Using a tactful manner and ability to effectively deal with difficult situations
* Maintaining knowledge of systems/applications/products serviced by the contact center
* Ability to follow strict work instructions and procedures
* Adapting to continual changes to work instructions and procedures
* Available for a flexible schedule
* Attending training as needed
* Listening to performance feedback and integrating suggestions into your daily tasks
* Demonstrating a strong attendance record and excellent work ethic
**Additional Responsibilities**
* Validates patient and medical provider demographic information, including correct selection of a medical provider by specialty for healthcare service
* Determines whether patients are eligible to receive health care benefits and the appropriate referral/authorization path
* Contacts medical provider offices by telephone and makes confirmation calls to patients for all urgent requests in accordance with contractual timeliness standards
* Follows step-by-step instructions, including redirecting patients into the provider network for care, as required by contractual standards
* Formulates brief sentences/paragraphs from referral/authorization orders to provide clinical information to servicing providers
* Reviews work to validate that information is going to the correct providers/patients, and that the patient's personal information, and reason(s) for services are correct
* Meets goals and produces results through tracking performance, improving work processes, and prioritizing work and tasks
* Achieves successful solutions by reviewing situations and ensuring a full understanding before taking steps to resolve
* Listens to performance feedback and integrates suggestions into your daily tasks
* Demonstrates a strong attendance record and excellent work ethic
**Qualifications and Skills**
* Effective listening & comprehension skills
* Ability to closely follow instructions
* Analytical & resourceful problem-solving skills
* High level of accuracy & attention to detail
* Computer literacy, technical aptitude & familiarity with basic office software systems
* Ability to work independently & in a team setting
* Flexibility to work different shifts with the possibility of overtime, when needed
* High School diploma or equivalent; college course work preferred
* Six months experience in a production/data entry environment performing alpha and numeric data entry in a healthcare related organization such as managed care, claims/billing, health insurance, customer service, call center, or claims office preferred
* License/Certification: Medically based trade school diploma/certification, desired
