The Financial Content Strategist (Reseda Group) is responsible for creating high-quality, compliant, and engaging educational content that helps people better understand financial products and make informed decisions. This role works collaboratively with subject matter experts, Financial Education teams, Product teams, Marketing, and Client Success teams to produce clear, accurate content for web pages, guides, tools, and campaigns focused on banking products and services.
As part of the team, this individual will focus on strategically curating ideas, developing and researching content as needed to create educational articles (e.g. mortgages, loans, savings, budgeting) as well as digital content for web, social, and other communication channels. FAQs, glossary content, interactive frameworks (where applicable), short format videos, campaigns, newsletter and other communication areas will also be a focus.
Work Location: This position is a remote role within the State of Michigan.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm, occasional work done after hours as needed
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary: $85,000-100,000+, dependent on experience

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Financial Content Strategist I:
Produce clear, accurate financial education content, and short video clips, under guidance
Understand products and services offered by credit unions and banks to support the writing and development of content for educational pages, websites, resources, and other communication materials
Research financial topics and translate complex information into reader-friendly language
Work closely across teams to review and ensure accuracy and regulatory alignment
Perform content QA and proofreading tasks to verify effectiveness in conveying the necessary message, ensuring consistent brand tone, quality, and accuracy of information as to content, grammar, spelling, and typographical errors
Participate in editorial planning and content calendar execution
Support SEO best practices, keyword integration and readability
Manage and optimize CMS to ensure efficient content creation, organization, and distribution across channels
Develop and maintain cooperative working relationships in and outside of department
Manage several projects concurrently
Perform other duties and assist other employees, as assigned
Financial Content Strategist II:
All of the Financial Content Strategist I duties and responsibilities
Own the end-to-end writing process for educational content
Lead topic research, audience analysis and content outlining using new statistics, data, and information to add to existing or create new financial education content
Draft, revise, and finalize educational content with minimal oversight
Collaborate cross-functionally with product, marketing, and other divisions to align messages
Provide guidance on tone, structure, and educational approach for all content developed
Contribute to content strategy discussions such as topic selections, knowledge gaps, user needs, etc.
Mentor tier 1 employees and assist with editorial workflows
Leverage data and analytics to improve content effectiveness
Work with management to create and implement special projects based on product roadmap
Proofread documents from others on the team to verify accuracy and effectiveness in conveying the necessary message; correct as to content, grammar, spelling, and typographical errors
Senior Financial Content Strategist:
All of Financial Content Strategist II duties and responsibilities
Lead content strategy for financial education initiatives
Define content frameworks, standards, and governance for educational material
Manage complex topics such as regulatory change, compliance nuance, risk disclosures, etc.
Drive topic prioritization aligned with organizational goals
Serve as primary writer/educator for financial education content and long-form assets
Mentor and train content team members
Measure and optimize content performance based on analytics and user feedback
Develop and strengthen working relationships with key influencers and executives across the organization and in the industry to support financial education and business objectives
Independently manage and execute projects
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Financial Content Strategist I:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Bachelor’s Degree required; preferred degree in marketing, communications, journalism, education, business, or related major
2-3 years of experience in communications, journalism, marketing, and/or fincial services
Strong understanding of personal finance concepts such as mortgages, loans, interest, budgeting, savings, digital banking, etc.
Familiarity with credit union and bank product structures and terminology
Understanding of regulatory considerations for financial content (disclosures, for example)
Exceptional writing and editing skills with a focus on clarity and accessibility
Ability to translate complex financial topics into reader-friendly language
Strong research skills and ability to verify accuracy
Comfort working with content management systems
Basic understanding of SEO principles
Ability to work with style guides and editorial standards
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to work cross-functionally with compliance, product, marketing, and other teams
Receptive to feedback and interactive editing processes
Empathy for diverse audiences learning financial topics
Ability to structure content for clarity, flow, and educational impact
Attention to accessibility and inclusive language
Time management and meeting deadlines
Ability to handle multiple topics simultaneously

Financial Content Strategist II:
All of the Financial Content Strategist I knowledge, skills, and abilities
3-5 years of experience in relevant jobs
Advanced knowledge of financial products and services
Experience driving content strategy for web or digital experiences
Ability to analyze content performance metrics and recommend improvements
Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor (CCUFC) preferred
Senior Financial Content Strategist:
All of Financial Content Strategist II knowledge, skills, and abilities
5+ years of experience in relevant jobs
Mentorship and leadership capability
Experience with stakeholder management in regulated industries
Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor (CCUFC) required
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
May be required to remain in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
Ability to operate standard office technology, equipment and tools, which may include many hours of computer and phone usage.
Occasionally needs to move about inside of office area
Exposure to potentially hazardous condition, i.e. robbery. Receives detailed instructions and procedures to be followed to minimize the exposure
This position is able to work in remote working arrangements.
