Financial Planning Assistant

Sage Financial Systems is a boutique financial planning practice located in Columbia, SC, focused on tailored financial strategies for clients. The Financial Planning Assistant role is designed for individuals with financial planning experience, providing a pathway to an Associate Advisor position while supporting clients through detailed financial analyses and planning tasks.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed, individualized meeting packages including financial planning analysis and tailored recommendations for Ideal, Signature, and Acquisition clients
• Coordinate with internal and external SMEs across tax, estate planning, insurance, and money management to build complete 360° client pictures
• Maintain client financial plans in WealthVision; process client data and documents with precision and timeliness
• Utilize various financial planning tools such as: WealthBox, Holistiplan, Wealth.com, Morningstar Advisor Workstation
• Execute post-meeting planning tasks and follow-through via WealthBox
• Observe client meetings and progressively build toward client-facing responsibilities

Skills

• You have meaningful financial planning experience—retirement planning, tax planning, goals based financial planning, personal wealth management experience, and how estate considerations integrate into a comprehensive plan
• You are on the path to the CFP® designation or hold it already. A related background (retirement group planning, etc.) with planning depth is equally welcome
• You must obtain your Series 7 and Series 63 or equivalent licenses within 3 months of onboarding (we will support you through this process)
• You are detail-oriented, team-centered, kind, and genuinely energized by collaborative problem solving to meet clients' needs —not just the client conversation
• You are open and coachable. Our methodology is distinct and mastering it is part of the role. We will support you with thorough training
