Job Description:
• Perform a variety of administrative tasks that require a high level of attention to detail and excellent customer service skills
• Contact patients and/or clients to obtain pertinent demographic information
• Responsible for performing administrative duties such as data entry and database/log maintenance
• Work with the Genetic Counseling team to manage results to be reported to patients through an innovative approach to providing genetic testing results
• Responsible for obtaining and distributing results to genetic counselors and ensuring that all results are distributed daily for reporting to patients
• Communicate with clients regarding patients whose genetic counselors were unable to reach
Requirements:
• Associates degree with 1 or more years experience in the healthcare industry such as a hospital or physician's office OR Bachelor’s degree with no previous experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, or Genetics preferred
• 1 or more years experience working in a clinical genetics laboratory preferred
• 1 or more years experience working as a Genetic Counselor Assistant preferred
• Familiarity with genetic concepts
• Strong computer skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and MS Office Suite
• Strong multi-tasking ability with excellent attention to detail
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent ability to listen and respond effectively
• Strong flexibility and the ability to manage and adapt to changing priorities quickly
• Strong project management skills
• Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with others and work cooperatively and effectively to set goals, resolve problems and make recommendations
