Job Description:
• Establish, expand, and manage relationships with international factory partners to secure reliable supply, competitive pricing, and consistent quality.
• Source, evaluate, and onboard new products for the company catalog, ensuring alignment with demand, margin targets, and inventory turn goals.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, MOQs, and lead times with factory partners to improve profitability and cash flow.
• Maintain ongoing communication with suppliers to manage product updates, resolve issues, and address supply chain disruptions.
• Collaborate with internal teams to forecast demand, plan inventory purchases, and support new product launches.
• Monitor supplier performance and proactively identify opportunities to improve cost, quality, and delivery timelines.
• Stay informed on global supply chain trends, manufacturing capabilities, and competitive sourcing opportunities.
Requirements:
• Experience reverse engineering supply chain sourcing with tools such as ImportYeti and ImportGenius
• Must have experience in the commercial kitchen parts category
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a buyer with direct responsibility for international sourcing and supplier management for commercial kitchen equipment or food service industry
• Proven experience purchasing at least $5 million annually in inventory, with preference for candidates who have managed $100 million or more in international purchases.
• Established relationships with overseas factories, ideally within food service equipment, replacement parts, or related manufacturing categories.
• Strong understanding of sourcing strategy, negotiation, cost structures, lead times, and international logistics.
• Experience sourcing OEM equivalent or compatible replacement parts that meet quality and performance standards.
• Analytical and detail-oriented mindset, with the ability to evaluate demand, margins, and inventory turns.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work across cultures and time zones.
• Proficiency in a second language is strongly preferred.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining accountability and follow through.
