Manager What you will be doing: The manager, in collaboration with the engagement team, will establish the objectives and audit strategy. The manager will be involved in executing audit and review procedures, with a particular focus on complex, judgmental and specialized issues. Additionally, the manager will mentor Seniors, Experienced Staff, and Staff, offering training and support to ensure successful project completion while also delivering innovative solutions to meet client needs. You will: • Lead & manage all components of government audit engagements with varying degrees of complexity. • Develop an understanding of the client’s business and becomes a “functional expert” in the area. • Prepare and review work papers and perform various procedures under generally accepted auditing standards to verify accuracy and validity of client’s financial matters. • Consistently demonstrates concise, accurate, and organized work paper technique. • Supervise, mentor, and coach a team of auditors and accountants, ensuring high-quality deliverables and client satisfaction. • Anticipate and address client concerns and identifies and address problems promptly as they arise. • Collaborate with partners, directors and senior managers across the firm on cross-functional and cross-service line initiatives. • Stay abreast of current and emerging trends, issues, and challenges in the accounting and government audit industries. • Demonstrate leadership, integrity, professionalism, and commitment to the firm's values and mission. • Demonstrate competency in technical skills, work quality, application of professional and LSL standards, proficient at researching and writing. • Punctually enters time and expenses to support efficient billing processes. • Develop prospective contacts and relationships beneficial to the Firm. • Participates in the firm recruiting program, developing a rapport with candidates. • Ability to audit and accounting principles and techniques on the engagements to which assigned. These may include any or all of the following: FASB’s, GASB’s, SAS’s / SSARSs / GAAS • Basic understanding of industry specific audit issues which may include any of the following areas: financial statement audits, regulatory compliance, due diligence, process and controls, or assertions and agreements. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a supervisory position. • Monitor and check staff performance levels, ensuring that work is carried out within set deadlines, budget, and quality standards. • Responsible for the development, coaching and training of all levels of staff. Preferred Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree, required with a concentration in Accounting, Finance or Economics, preferred. • Six (6) years’ experience in public accounting within the government auditing department demonstrating a proven progression in complexity and scope, required. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams), required. • Experience using CaseWare, preferred. • Experience using Workiva, preferred. • Valid CPA license or actively working toward obtaining the license. • Demonstrated ability to plan and organize projects At LSL CPAs, we offer competitive compensation and benefits package along with a supportive team-focused environment.
