Role Description
Advanced Technologies & Laboratories International, Inc. (ATL) is hiring a Senior Engineer/Scientist - PhD/ScD epidemiologist (MACS- Military Aviators Cancer Study) with experience with the epidemiology of cancers, affected worker populations, and carcinogenic occupational exposures.
• Provide subject matter expertise related to occupational exposures to radiation, chemicals, and fumes for the benefit of study design and data interpretation of military aviation and firefighter/1st responder data sets.
• Oversee and assist in developing & conducting statistical analysis plans for various studies.
• Provide expert review of, or contribution to, job groupings into similar exposure groups.
• Work with team industrial hygienists and health physicists needed to review job titles and tasks and conduct expert ratings/rankings of occupational exposures to radiation, chemicals, and fumes.
• Contribute to a comprehensive literature review of potential aviation-related hazards in both military and commercial aviation and support crew activities.
• Assist in a literature review of potential aviation-related hazards, resulting in a comprehensive assessment of available evidence and prioritized list of potential carcinogens of interest.
• Assist in developing job exposure matrices which take into account uncertainty from expert assessments. Several job exposure matrices will be developed.
• Develop a job exposure matrix quantifying exposure to ionizing radiation associated with high altitude flight.
Qualifications
• PhD
• Experience in the epidemiology of cancers
