Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to join our team in La Vergne, TN. As an RBT, you will have the opportunity to work one-on-one with children in their homes, implementing ABA therapy and counseling programs established by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one in-home ABA therapy to children with autism spectrum disorder
- Collect behavior and skill acquisition data during sessions
- Conduct discrete trials, implement behavior support, and treatment plans
- Work collaboratively with a BCBA Supervisor to implement basic principles and teaching procedures of ABA therapy
- Be responsive to the needs and requests of clients, their families, and supervisors
- Arrive on time and be prepared for therapy sessions
- Maintain professionalism in all aspects of your work
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a strong passion for working with children and families, as well as a commitment to delivering high-quality services. The following qualifications are required:
- Bachelor's Degree or working towards your degree in a related field (Psychology, Education, or Sociology) preferred
- Experience working with children for 1 year in a 1:1 setting
- 1-year ABA Experience, or 1-2 years working as a Special Education Assistant, Paraprofessional, Direct Support Professional, Medical Assistant, Autism Experience, Teacher's Assistant, or ABA Tutor in a school or home setting
- Ability to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Personal means of transportation with a reliable vehicle
- Physical ability to lift up to 35lbs, perform activities that entail fine and gross motor skills, bend, kneel, squat, sitting on floor level or in a chair, or standing for periods of time
- Ability to respond quickly in short distances (100 feet) in response to the movements and behaviors of children
- Willingness and ability to work in both indoor and outdoor settings
Preferred Qualifications
- Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certification
- Experience using a Cognitive Behavior Intervention Plan with youth and families
- University Partnerships, Supervision, Practicum, and Mentoring experience
