Our client, a reputable insurance provider, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Insurance Claims Adjuster to join their growing Auto Division. This hybrid role offers a blend of remote work flexibility and essential in-person responsibilities, based in Detroit, Michigan, US .
Responsibilities:
Investigate, evaluate, and settle automobile insurance claims in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Conduct thorough on-site and remote inspections of damaged vehicles to assess the extent of damage and determine repair costs. Interview claimants, witnesses, and other parties involved to gather necessary information for claim investigation. Review police reports, medical records, and other relevant documentation to verify coverage and establish liability. Negotiate settlements with claimants and their legal representatives in a fair and timely manner. Authorize payments for approved claims, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Maintain detailed and organized claim files, documenting all communications, investigations, and decisions. Identify potential fraud indicators and escalate suspicious claims for further investigation. Provide excellent customer service to claimants throughout the claims process, explaining coverage and settlement options clearly. Collaborate with repair shops, legal counsel, and other vendors to facilitate claim resolution. Stay updated on industry regulations, best practices, and claims handling techniques. Participate in team meetings and training sessions, both virtually and in-person as required by the hybrid work model.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred. Current state adjuster license(s) where required. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a claims adjuster, with specific experience in auto insurance claims. Strong understanding of auto insurance policies, coverage types, and bodily injury claims. Excellent investigative, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills. Proficiency in claims management software and standard office applications. Ability to conduct physical inspections of vehicles and perform detailed damage assessments. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and convey complex information effectively. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage a caseload efficiently. Must possess a valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle for on-site inspections. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a hybrid work environment. This role requires a candidate who can balance remote efficiency with the necessary field presence to effectively manage claims.
