About the Role

CI&T is looking for a Senior Data Steward to join our Data Governance team and help drive data quality, ownership, and usability across the organization.

This professional will play a key role in establishing and maintaining governance processes, managing metadata, supporting data quality initiatives, and acting as a bridge between business and technical teams to ensure data is properly documented, trusted, and aligned with governance standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage metadata requests and maintain data documentation and catalog information.
• Act as a business and governance analyst for data-related initiatives.
• Partner with data owners and business stakeholders to define and document data ownership and accountability.
• Ensure adherence to data governance policies, standards, and best practices.
• Identify data issues and coordinate resolution through the appropriate governance processes.
• Profile datasets and create basic data quality checks and controls.
• Support data-related requests and promote data usability and trust across the organization.
• Collaborate with technical and business teams to improve data governance processes and standards.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience in Data Governance, Data Stewardship, or Data Management roles.
• Strong understanding of:
  • Data Governance frameworks and practices
  • Metadata management
  • Data Quality principles and controls
  • Data ownership and data lifecycle management
  • Data contracts and governance policies
• Familiarity with Data Engineering concepts, including data ingestion processes and ETL/ELT.
• Experience or familiarity with Databricks environments.
• Understanding of programming logic and basic knowledge of Python.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced English (C1 or above), with excellent verbal and written communication skills ( mandatory )
