Our client, a renowned name in the music and entertainment industry, is searching for an exceptionally talented Lead Sound Designer to spearhead creative audio initiatives. This role is based in the vibrant city of Nashville, Tennessee , and offers a hybrid work model, blending essential in-office collaboration with flexible remote workdays. You will be at the forefront of crafting immersive sonic experiences, from conceptualization to final delivery, working on a variety of high-profile projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the sound design process for diverse projects, including film scores, game audio, advertising campaigns, and interactive installations. Develop and execute creative audio concepts that align with project objectives and artistic vision. Create, record, edit, and mix a wide range of sound effects, ambiences, Foley, and musical elements. Manage and mentor a team of sound designers, providing artistic direction and technical guidance. Collaborate closely with directors, producers, composers, and other stakeholders to achieve desired audio outcomes. Oversee the implementation of audio assets within various engines and platforms. Maintain and organize extensive sound libraries, ensuring efficient asset management. Stay current with emerging audio technologies, software, and industry trends. Troubleshoot and resolve technical audio issues during production and post-production. Contribute to the development of innovative audio workflows and techniques. Ensure high-quality audio deliverables according to project specifications and deadlines. Conduct A/B testing and gather feedback to refine sound designs.
Required Qualifications:
Extensive experience as a Sound Designer or in a similar audio creation role, with a significant portfolio showcasing diverse projects. Demonstrable leadership experience managing creative teams and projects. Proficiency in industry-standard Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Cubase, or Ableton Live. Expertise in audio editing, mixing, mastering, and sound synthesis techniques. Deep understanding of acoustics, psychoacoustics, and audio signal processing. Experience with game audio middleware (e.g., Wwise, FMOD) is highly desirable. Strong creative vision and a keen ear for detail. Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively in both a collaborative studio environment and independently during remote work periods. A passion for music, sound, and storytelling. Bachelor's degree in Audio Engineering, Music Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
