Litigation Associate

Clyde & Co US LLP is seeking associates and senior associates to join their litigation defense practice in Seattle, focusing on a variety of liability and insurance challenges. The role involves taking depositions, drafting legal documents, and preparing cases for trial or mediation.

Responsibilities

• Take depositions, attending hearings, and mediations as required
• Draft and submit pleadings, motions and briefs
• Prepare correspondence to colleagues and clients
• Conduct legal research using Westlaw/Lexis/Nexis
• Draft discovery requests and discovery responses
• Review and analyze documents and materials for production
• Actively investigate claims and prepare case handling strategies
• Actively and effectively report to our insurance carrier clients and insureds
• Prepare cases for trial/mediation and participate in trial/mediation

Skills

• 1 – 10 years of experience in litigation
• Admitted to practice in Washington State
• Civil litigation experience
• Excellent legal research, writing, and oral communication skills
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to simultaneously handle sensitive and time-sensitive matters
• Effective problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects
