Job description: Boyne City Public Schools has an opening for a High School Title VI Academic Tutor position. This position is for the 2023-2024 school year.
The Title VI Academic Tutor position will entail reinforcing educational skills based on State of
Michigan standards for academic achievement with Native American students in 9th
through 12th grade. This 5 hour per week position will offer one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions to students at Boyne City High School. It will serve students in developing core academic skills and cultural awareness.
Qualifications: * Interested persons should have a strong academic background.
- Experience with tutoring and strong knowledge of basic HS mathematics is desired.
- The successful candidate must exhibit strong organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively with the various student populations.
- The ability to advocate for students and to mentor students in the skill of advocating for themselves is desired.
- Ability to learn and use technology that enhances the education process.
