<h2>Job Description</h2><div><div><p><b>Role:</b> Machine Tool Service Engineer</p><p><b>Location:</b> Leeds/Field Based</p><p><b>Salary:</b> Up to £50,000 depending on experience</p><p>Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Machine Tool Service Engineer to support the installation, maintenance, and repair of CNC and conventional machine tools across our customer base. This is a field-based role requiring a proactive individual who can work independently while delivering a high standard of technical support and customer service. The successful candidate will play a key role in minimising downtime, ensuring equipment performance, and maintaining strong client relationships.</p><p><b>Responsibilities include:</b></p><ul><li>Install, commission, and test new machine tools at customer sites</li><li>Diagnose faults and carry out mechanical, electrical, and control system repairs</li><li>Perform routine servicing and preventative maintenance</li><li>Provide technical support and guidance to customers on machine operation</li><li>Complete detailed service reports and maintain accurate documentation</li><li>Work closely with internal teams to ensure efficient service delivery</li><li>Always adhere to health and safety standards</li></ul><p><b>Skills & Experience:</b></p><ul><li>Strong fault-finding ability across mechanical and electrical systems</li><li>Knowledge of CNC control systems (e.g., Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain)</li><li>Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics</li><li>Good communication and customer-facing skills</li><li>Self-motivated with the ability to work independently</li><li>Strong organisational and problem-solving skills</li><li>Proven experience servicing CNC or conventional machine tools</li><li>Previous field service experience is highly desirable</li><li>Experience with PLC systems or programming is advantageous</li><li>Full UK driving licence required</li><li>Willingness to travel and stay overnight when necessary</li></ul><p>WR Engineering are the #1 recruitment partner for engineering, manufacturing & technical sales jobs.
