You're the kind of middle-school math specialist who catches a misplaced denominator before anyone else opens the file. You've spent time teaching or tutoring students in grades 4–8—or you've developed equivalent instincts and content knowledge—and you deliver feedback that learners can act on immediately. You don't accept "close enough" when students depend on the accuracy of what they're reading.
We're developing an AI-driven math content platform that produces questions, articles, and videos at volume, but we reject the notion that volume justifies compromised quality. The sector celebrates "generate faster." We prioritize "deliver better." Your role is the human checkpoint that prevents thousands of learners from absorbing an AI's overconfident errors, vague explanations, or subtly compromised rigor.
This position centers on rigorous quality control of AI-produced middle school mathematics content: verifying correctness, logic, developmental fit, and instructional soundness; identifying conceptual pitfalls, unclear language, and faulty reasoning; and delivering concise, structured feedback that enables rapid correction by another team. This is precision-focused work requiring high standards, keen attention to detail, and absolute intolerance for mathematically flawed or pedagogically damaging material reaching students.
You'll operate within the content workflow as the last checkpoint before publication, evaluating material delivered through spreadsheets or an internal platform and converting your expert judgment into clear issue documentation. If you can work efficiently without sacrificing rigor, flag problems without lengthy prose, and prioritize student learning over deferring to automated output, you should submit an application.
What You Will Be Doing
• Evaluating AI-generated mathematics questions, articles, and videos to detect problems in mathematical correctness, academic integrity, pedagogical effectiveness, and developmental appropriateness, and delivering precise actionable feedback that allows another team to revise the content before student exposure.
Math Subject Matter Expert Key Responsibilities
• Verify that AI-generated mathematics academic content undergoes rigorous quality validation for mathematical correctness, academic integrity, and instructional effectiveness.
Basic Requirements
• You hold a university degree in Math Education (not solely Mathematics)
• You possess at least 4 years of experience teaching, tutoring, or developing EdTech curriculum with a focus on mathematics for grades 3–8
• You are presently located in the US
