Mechanical Engineer (PE) – Remote | Healthcare & Commercial Projects Location: Remote (Prefer Southeast U.S., not required) Pay: $60–$65/hour (DOE) Travel: <10% (occasional site visits) Start: ASAP About the Company Our Business specializing in architecture, engineering, and design-build services across federal and commercial sectors. The firm has deep expertise in healthcare facilities, government projects, and large-scale commercial buildings, with a strong reputation for quality and repeat clients nationwide. Position Overview We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with an active PE license (any U.S. state) to support ongoing commercial and healthcare facility design projects. This role is primarily remote, with minimal travel, and will focus on HVAC/mechanical systems design, construction documentation, and coordination across multidisciplinary teams. This is a high-impact role supporting projects similar in scale to hospitals, government facilities, and large commercial buildings. Key Responsibilities • Design and develop mechanical/HVAC systems for commercial buildings and healthcare facilities • Produce and review construction documents, specifications, and calculations • Perform load calculations, equipment sizing, and system layouts • Collaborate with architects, electrical, plumbing, and structural teams • Support renovation, retrofit, and new construction projects • Conduct site assessments and occasional field verification (<10% travel) • Ensure designs meet codes, standards, and client requirements • Participate in value engineering and cost-effective design solutions • Review contractor submittals and respond to RFIs Required Qualifications • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license (any U.S. state) • 5–10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering (building systems) • Strong background in commercial construction projects • Experience with healthcare/hospital environments (highly preferred) • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit (BIM) • Knowledge of HVAC systems, codes, and standards (ASHRAE, etc.) • Experience with construction-phase support and coordination Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled Benefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, term life insurance, short-term disability insurance, additional voluntary benefits, commuter benefits and 401K plan.
