Job Summary
Aptive is seeking an experienced National Program Manager (NPM) - Enterprise Drug File Adoption Pharmacist to support VA Pharmacy Benefits Management (PBM) Clinical Informatics efforts. This role provides program leadership for Enterprise Drug File Adoption, including preparation, transition, and sustainment of the Cerner drug file and oversight of prescription migration support for VA sites.
Primary Responsibilities
Serve as lead program manager for Enterprise Drug File Adoption, with oversight of drug file content, training, education, and adoption activities across VA sites
Lead preparation, transition, and sustainment of the Cerner drug file, including oversight of the drug file component of VA site prescription migration
Act as primary liaison with VA Medical Centers (VAMCs) on VistA and Cerner, helping sites identify and resolve drug file discrepancies prior to and following Go-Live
Develop, maintain, and evolve Enterprise Drug File policies, educational resources, and business practices in alignment with PBM and VHA leadership direction
Synthesize and analyze data from enterprise and facility drug files to prepare specification requirements for pharmacy applications
Collaborate with VA OI&T, VistA Pharmacy Workgroups, DOD, Indian Health Service, and other stakeholders to address issues and drive standardization
Represent PBM in analysis and guidance of pharmacy software development and implementation for Process Re-Engineering (PRE) and EHRM projects
Maintain PBM master databases to ensure clinical and technical accuracy across Pharmacy Data Management, Inpatient Medications, Outpatient Pharmacy, BCMA, Adverse Reaction Tracking, and other associated files
Survey user needs, develop software requirement specifications, and support phased implementation, testing, and training programs
Review proposed regulations and procedural changes and make recommendations to PBM-CI leadership on needed policy and system updates
Provide technical training to VHA Pharmacy Informatics Specialists on Enterprise Drug File Adoption
Communicate clearly and effectively on complex technical issues, both orally and in writing, with diverse internal and external audiences
Minimum Qualifications
Pharmacy degree (BS Pharmacy and/or PharmD) from an accredited program and active, unrestricted pharmacist license in a U.S. state/territory/DC.
Demonstrated experience leading clinical informatics and pharmacy systems initiatives (EHR, drug file content, migration readiness, training).
Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate complex
functional issues into clear requirements and recommendations.
Ability to work remotely/telework (remote eligible).
Desired Qualifications
Experience supporting VA EHRM or other federal EHR modernization efforts
Familiarity with VA drug file management and prescription migration processes
Prior experience in a national or enterprise-level program management role within VHA or a federal health agency
Experience collaborating across VA, DOD, and/or IHS pharmacy programs
Technical experience in software design or development
