Spartan Shield is seeking a knowledgeable, driven individual to help with the continued success of the company and the clients we support in a Payroll Manager capacity. The Payroll Manager will work closely with the CFO and Controller to deliver superb payroll services. Successful candidates must have payroll, government contracting, and supervisory experience, as well as work well independently in a fast-paced environment.

QUALIFICATIONS
A Bachelor's or above in accounting or equivalent work experience
10+ years of payroll and accounting experience
7+ years of Government Contractor experience
Supervisory experience required
Familiarity with GAAP required
Familiarity with FAR a plus
Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in other standard office applications
Strong problem solving and reasoning
Able to prioritize and meet multiple competing deadlines
Excellent written and oral communication
Proficiency in at least one of the following software programs: ADP, Paychex, UKG, QB Payroll, Paylocity
Proficiency in at least one of the following software programs a plus but not required: Deltek Costpoint, QuickBooks Online, Unanet, Microsoft Dynamics, QuickBooks Desktop, NetSuite
Must be eligible to work in the United States and not require sponsorship now or in the future
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide superior customer service
Oversee and manage the payroll functions for multiple clients
Supervise and manage payroll clerks and/or specialists to ensure efficient processing of payroll
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws, as well as organizational policies, in payroll processing and review
Coordinate and ensure the timely submission of payroll taxes and filings
Review bank and other account reconciliations
Review journal entries and month-end closings
Provide support with financial audits related to payroll processes
Oversee and prepare required reports as needed and as requested
