The role
As Principal Lawyer, you will lead by example —running high value, complex litigation; providing strategic and operational direction for junior team members; and ensuring exceptional client care at every stage of the journey.
Alongside managing your own caseload, you will work with senior management to drive the financial and operational success of the team and be a key contributor to business development. You’ll nurture and grow relationships with Trade Unions, members, and private clients while raising the team’s profile and helping shape its long‑term success. You also will work with senior colleagues within the National Clinical Negligence team to help meet the strategic goals of the firm.
About you...
You’re a confident, commercially aware lawyer with strong clinical negligence expertise and a genuine passion for developing people. You will bring:
Experience of running complex clinical negligence litigation
Strong supervisory, mentoring, and leadership capability
A desire to maximise team performance and continuous improvement
Confidence in billing, forecasting, and cost recovery
Relevant accreditation (Law Society, AVMA, or equivalent) is beneficial
