Key Responsibilities Lead the design, construction, and testing of engineered biological systems and pathways. Develop and implement strategies for metabolic engineering and strain optimization. Apply principles of genetic circuit design and implementation for complex cellular functions. Oversee high-throughput screening and selection methods for identifying optimized strains or pathways. Collaborate with computational biologists to develop predictive models and guide experimental design. Mentor and guide junior scientists and research associates in synthetic biology techniques. Analyze complex experimental data, interpret results, and make data-driven decisions. Present research findings to internal teams, management, and external collaborators. Contribute to intellectual property development and scientific publications. Ensure adherence to laboratory safety standards and company procedures. Requirements Ph.D. in Synthetic Biology, Molecular Biology, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of relevant research experience, with a significant focus on synthetic biology applications. Proven experience in metabolic engineering, genetic circuit design, and genome engineering. Hands-on expertise with molecular cloning, DNA assembly methods, and microbial genetics. Experience with high-throughput screening platforms and automation is highly desirable. Strong understanding of statistical analysis and experimental design. Demonstrated leadership experience and the ability to manage complex projects. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills. Superb written and verbal communication skills, with strong presentation abilities. Comfortable working in a hybrid model, balancing on-site lab work with remote analysis.
