Our client is seeking a meticulous and strategic Procurement Specialist to enhance their supply chain operations. This role is based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, US , and will operate on a hybrid model, blending in-office collaboration with remote flexibility. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of procurement best practices, and a proven ability to negotiate favorable terms with suppliers. You will be instrumental in ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services essential to our operations. Key Responsibilities: Source and procure raw materials, components, and services in accordance with company standards and budget constraints. Analyze market trends, supplier performance, and pricing to identify cost-saving opportunities. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, fostering collaborative partnerships. Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve optimal value and mitigate risks. Manage the entire procurement process, from requisition to delivery, ensuring compliance and efficiency. Collaborate with internal departments, including manufacturing, engineering, and finance, to understand their needs and provide procurement support. Monitor inventory levels and work with supply chain teams to ensure adequate stock availability. Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, spend analysis, and supplier performance metrics. Identify and implement process improvements within the procurement function to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Stay informed about industry best practices and regulatory requirements related to procurement and supply chain management. Conduct vendor evaluations and audits to ensure compliance with quality and ethical standards. Resolve any discrepancies or issues that may arise during the procurement process. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. 3-5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management. Demonstrated success in negotiating with suppliers and managing contracts. Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems. Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to perform cost-benefit analysis. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment, balancing independent work with team collaboration. Understanding of inventory management principles. Proactive and results-oriented with a commitment to achieving departmental and company goals. Experience in the manufacturing or consumer goods sector is a plus.
