About the Role Our client, a prominent manufacturer in the Charlotte, North Carolina region, is seeking a meticulous and results-oriented Production Planner and Scheduler. This integral role will be responsible for developing and maintaining efficient production schedules that align with demand forecasts, inventory levels, and operational capacity. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a keen understanding of supply chain dynamics, and proficiency in production planning software. You will play a crucial part in ensuring timely product delivery, optimizing resource utilization, and minimizing production disruptions. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, and manage detailed production schedules to meet customer demand and internal targets. Collaborate with sales, procurement, and production teams to gather information on demand, lead times, and capacity constraints. Monitor production progress against schedules, identifying and resolving any deviations or potential delays. Optimize inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods to support production needs while minimizing holding costs. Utilize ERP/MRP systems for planning, scheduling, and inventory management. Analyze production data to identify trends, forecast future needs, and recommend process improvements. Communicate effectively with all stakeholders regarding production status, potential issues, and schedule changes. Ensure adherence to all safety and quality standards throughout the planning and scheduling process. Participate in S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) meetings to ensure alignment across departments. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience as a Production Planner, Scheduler, or in a similar supply chain role within a manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of production planning, scheduling techniques, and inventory control principles. Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards) and advanced MS Excel skills. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments. Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and timeliness. APICS certification (CPIM, CSCP) is a plus. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
