Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Production Supervisor to oversee operations at their state-of-the-art food manufacturing facility located in Durham, North Carolina, US . This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, balancing on-site operational leadership with remote administrative tasks and strategic planning. The Production Supervisor will be responsible for managing a team of production associates, ensuring efficient workflow, maintaining high quality standards, and optimizing production output. This position is crucial to the successful day-to-day operations of the plant, contributing to the company's mission of delivering high-quality food products. Key Responsibilities: Supervise and coordinate the activities of production line personnel to ensure efficient and safe operations. Monitor production processes, identify and address operational issues, and implement solutions to improve efficiency and reduce waste. Ensure adherence to all quality control standards, food safety regulations (HACCP, GMP), and company policies. Train and mentor production staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment. Manage shift schedules, labor allocation, and overtime to meet production demands. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members. Maintain accurate production records, including output, material usage, and downtime. Collaborate with other departments, such as Quality Assurance, Maintenance, and Logistics, to ensure seamless operations. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve product quality. Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, conducting safety audits and promoting a culture of safety. Prepare reports on production performance, key metrics, and operational challenges for management. Utilize downtime for strategic planning and administrative tasks remotely as appropriate. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food industry. Previous supervisory or leadership experience is essential. Strong understanding of food manufacturing processes, quality control, and safety standards. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate and manage a diverse team. Proficiency in production planning and scheduling. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles is desirable. Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work model, adapting to both on-site and remote responsibilities. Basic computer skills, including experience with MS Office Suite and production management software.
